AI and Education

Cultivating Synergies, Shaping the Future

Saturday Sept. 30

Betaworks

29 Little W 12th St NYC

Can we trust AI with our kids?

Join us for a morning symposium on AI + Education with leading ed-tech designers, educational leaders, teachers, students of all ages, policy experts, and impact-oriented ed-tech investors.

We’ll explore a series of curated demos of AI learning products that span early childhood to adult learning. We’ll hear from thought leaders who will facilitate discussion and generate actionable feedback, demo by demo, on the merits and risks of deploying AI in the classroom.

This event is free for all and generously sponsored by the Emerson Collective and XQ Institute, who together with MeshEd and Betaworks, aim to break down some of the siloes between ed-tech product developers, educators, and students.

The goal of this event is not to advocate for a single viewpoint but rather to cultivate curiosity, encourage creative thought, and build an engaged community who will positively influence the integration of AI into our educational systems.

The Symposium will conclude with lunch and an optional afternoon work session, in which we’ll gather audience feedback from the morning  and draft an open-source, publicly posted white paper summarizing the symposium’s recommendations on guidelines and opportunities for AI use in schools and for learning beyond the classroom.
